What's the logic for automatic weight goal updates?
Weight observations added via the Equip Scale say “Equip Scale” as the source. When a scale is ordered, a new weight goal is created according to the following logic:
- If the patient does not have an active weight goal on file when the order for an Equip scale is placed and does have an Equip account or has an active proxy account, a weight goal is automatically created with the following settings:
- Type = Under review
- Frequency =
- Once weekly if the patient is >= 18 years old
- Twice weekly if the patient is < 18 years old
- Method = Equip scale - supervised by Equip provider
- Assignee =
- Patient if patient is >= 18 years old
- Proxy account(s) if patient is < 18 years old
- Start date = Creation date
- End date = null
- Low boundary = null
- High boundary = null
- Status = Active
- If the patient does have an active weight goal on file when the order for an Equip scale is placed, the existing weight goal is automatically closed and a new one is created with the following setting including carrying over the same values from the original goal where indicated:
- Type = Previous goal
- Frequency = Previous goal
- Method = Equip scale - supervised by Equip provider
- Assignee = Previous goal
- Start date = Creation date
- End date = null
- Low boundary = Previous goal
- High boundary = Previous goal
- Status = Active
- Alternative frequency reason = Previous goal
